Annie's
Attic is a collection of the Genealogy of Annie's mother was Clara Ethel Baskett Lynn, born in Lovelace, Green County, Tennessee. Lovelace is an area of Fall Branch, Tennessee, which is in Washington County, Tennessee. Geographacilly, this area lies along the borders of Sullivan, Hawkins, Washington and Green Counties, Tennessee. Clara Mae left Tennessee in the early 1900's for Collins, Tattnal County, Georgia, to teach school. It was there she met and married Charles Alexander, town policeman for Collins. Charles was shot and killed by a drunk while he was attempting to arrest him. Charles and Clara had one son, Charles Jr. Clara later married James Lawton Lynn, a local farm owner. James' family had been in Tattnall County many years and he, his brothers and cousins owned several farms in the Lynntown area of Tattnal County. James, or Lawton as he was known, and Clara had two children; a son, Lawton James, known as L.J. and a daughter Annie Laurie. James and Clara both died in Collins, Georgia; and are buried in Little Flock Cemetery, Lynntown, Tattnal County, Georgia. Annie
Laurie followed her mother into teaching, and it was while staying with
relatives in Lovelace to attend East Tennessee Normal School, she met D. M.
"Doc" Stallard. To
